Internship Project: Explaining gendered smallholder farming food disparity in northern Ghana

Siera Vercillo is a doctoral candidate working in the Environment, Health and Hazards lab in the Department of Geography at ·ÛºìÅ®ÀÉ. Her research is on the right to food, gender justice, agriculture systems development, and political ecology in sub-Saharan Africa, specifically northern Ghana. She is also working on a Government of Canada food security project operating across West Africa developing extension services and building cooperatives for smallholder farmers.
